Sons and Daughters of Virginia Founding Fathers celebrating the adoption of the Virginia Declaration of Rights. This historic document was drafted by a great-great grandson of VA Founding Father, George Mason and adopted by the Virginia Constitutional Convention on June 12, 1776. It was later used as the basis for the Bill of Rights. The event took place at George Mason's grave at his home, Gunston Hall, in Mason Neck, Fairfax County, Virginia. Pictured are GG Paul Walden and the Rev. Dr. Tom Costa, who spoke at the SDVAFF annual meeting in 2023. He is portraying the Rev. Lee Massey, who was the rector of Pohick Church at the time when George Washington and George Mason were parishioners there.
