Edward and Katherine Mitchell accepted the plaque on behalf of the Mitchell Family. Though the land was settled by Royall around 1637, the existing house is c. 1700.  The Mitchell's have no way of knowing if they hold the “original key”, but it is an 18th C key and lockset, that they still use to enter the house. The Mitchells are descendants of Katherine Banks and Henry Isham through Mary Isham Randolph.
Marker presented by Governor General Paul Walden and Honorary Governor General Deborah Whitmore Hicks, Esq.

Historic Marker presented at the 2023 Assembly Meeting
