Insignia
The insignia of the Sons and Daughters of the Virginia Founding Fathers is an oval scroll design surrounded by tobacco leaves bearing the name Virginia Founding Fathers. The center design is a ship sailing the ocean waters and is engraved 1607-1699. The official color of silver is to recognize the humble circumstances in which many of our ancestors began. The official color of purple is to honor the royal decree that sent our ancestors into the new world. The top bar is an oblong design that embodies the silhouette of a man and a woman in recognition of their shared sacrifices. The shield signifies the honor these men and women felt as they braved a new county. The star on the left represents our Virginia ancestors and the star on the right represents the members of our society that have chosen to honor them. The insignia and pins were designed by Leslie Kirk.
